Optimism

Had an unusual visitor in the garden today. After a bit of sleuthing, we discovered it was a Brambling. Are they common? I've never seen one before. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, I have further evidence that pigeons are extremely dim. I have just seen one flirting madly with a magpie. Never. Going. To Happen.
